When this lovely couple first contacted me, I knew their wedding day was going to be truly special. They put so much thought into every detail, and it absolutely showed! They chose to get married on the beach in North Topsail with a reception following at St. Regis Resort.

Taylor and Chase are so in love, and it was beyond moving to witness them together on their wedding day.

Marine Wedding Couple after Ceremony on Topsail Beach

A lot of planning, heart and effort went into every single detail. The wedding ceremony was on the beach in North Topsail, and the reception was held directly afterward in the Pender Room of St. Regis Resort. Catering and planning services were provided by the restaurant there, Ocean’s Edge. They used a classic palette of blush pink with white and pops of soft greenery. The groom’s family made all the hand etched glass decor as well as the acrylic table details, and the results were just stunning!

Not only was every detail lovingly crafted, but special attention was paid to remember those who were no longer with them physically but always in their hearts. They had photos of loved ones displayed and also made sure to bring the Bible of the Groom’s grandmother who had recently passed away.

The ceremony was out on the beach, and it was a gorgeous spring day for it! The tide was coming in late in the afternoon on that day, so the ceremony time was planned around the tide schedule. Taking note of when high tide is more important on the north end of the island where St. Regis is located, as the beach is not quite as wide as it is on the southern end of Topsail Island. Of course the planners at St. Regis were on top of it, and in our photography planning sessions before the wedding, we also made sure everyone was aware of the incoming tide and how it we could prepare accordingly for a seamless wedding ceremony.

The ceremony was inspiring, spiritual and absolutely perfect. As Chase is a marine stationed locally to us, their ceremony also included the traditional sword arch recessional—and his fellow marines did not disappoint! It was a beautiful moment, and we are proud and grateful to have such a strong military presence in our community.

One of the sweetest moments to witness throughout the day was to see Taylor and Chase become an official family together with Taylor’s precious little son—who was an absolute joy to be around the whole day!

Without a doubt, you know you are marrying a marine when you use a sword to cut your wedding cake! Taylor already knew what a wonderful family she has in the USMC of course, but the cake cutting was nice touch.
