Floral Design Recommendations for a Wedding in Topsail
We’re just going to come out and say it: a wedding just isn’t complete without at least a few flowers!
Preferably, a lot of flowers, but that’s just me.
Thankfully, we have some great options for floral designers near us in Surf City and Topsail Island.
While I know there are more options with talented designers, especially in the Wilmington and Jacksonville area, I am going to list the three that I have worked with often and can personally speak about. Not only is the quality of their work fantastic, but their professionalism and enthusiasm for all things floral really shines every time I work with them.
Dillon is an absolute master of his craft, and takes floral artistry to another level. His designs always blow me away! He has an office and studio in Wilmington NC, and a team of people that work together for all the busy wedding florals they do.
You might just need their custom champagne wall, it is gorgeous…and well, it is a wall of champagne! They will absolutely deliver and set up for your event in Topsail. Dillon and his crew also design installations for Christmas, and they are equally as breathtaking as his wedding work.
They have made wedding florals and bouquets for me, as well as the sweetest floral crowns for our Beach Photo Unicorn sessions. They are great at taking your vision and bringing it to life on a grand scale.
Dillon is super active on both Facebook and Instagram, you are sure to get a good idea of how they work if you check them out on social.
Surf City Florist has been around since 1993, and they absolutely know weddings on the island! They are a full service floral shop offering arrangements for all occasions—you’ve probably seen their new location on Hwy 17 just before you turn towards the island at Lowe’s. Their new shop is spacious and lovely, and if you pop by you will probably see the owner Judy and her staff creating floral designs behind the counter.
They are fantastic and happy to work with you to customize every (floral) detail for your big day.
If you want flowers that are really, really local, you can get blooms grown right here in Holly Ridge NC at Ivy and Oak Farm. If you aren’t familiar, Holly Ridge is the town that borders Surf City to the north on the mainland. Lauren is simply delightful, and she grows her own flowers. I am just amazed by that if you can’t tell.
She will give you fresh cuts to design yourself, or she will happily arrange them for you. I love seeing what gorgeous flowers she is growing, and she posts them regularly on her instagram feed. Lauren is the one who gave us the coolest little straw flowers that dry out quickly and still keep their color as well as shape. We use those in our own flat lay designs all the time, and they are found in decor in our house too- because we love them that much.
Currently, I’ve been admiring her giant saucer dahlias in the deepest shade of burgundy, and I can’t wait to see what she grows next.
Okay, now that you have some excellent floral designer recommendations, tell us all about the flowers you want at your wedding. Are you going with a minimal white, contemporary neutrals, bold and tropical, or all the texture of dried arrangement mixed with pops of unique flowers?
Floral design is so much fun (to photograph!), we can’t wait to hear what you are planning!
