Surf City and Topsail Beach Engagement Session
We are so excited for this sweet couple!! They are both first responders for the Wilmington NC Fire Department, and have been planning their wedding for some time, but COVID. Their wedding was put on hold for so many reasons beyond their control but it is finally happening next month!
Like many couples this year, they decided on an intimate backyard wedding, and they just happen to live on the intracoastal waterway, so it is a pretty amazing backyard to be planning a wedding at.
For their engagement session, we met in Surf City and then headed to Topsail Beach. They are an absolute dream to work with!
Check out the ring!! That gorgeous GREEN stone perfectly compliments the brides beautiful red hair. We had to show it off with some of the greens of the maritime forest!
This little beach access in Surf City is just so perfect. It has a canopy of trees lining the sand path, and then opens up to the ocean with sweeping views of the Surf City Ocean Pier. The sky was amazing that evening too—and these two did not disappoint the backdrop! How beautiful are they together???
With all of our sessions, we focus on 2 goals simultaneously: we make sure to get a flattering formal portrait of everyone looking at the camera (we call this “the Grandma shot” because it always makes grandmothers happy to get gifted those prints for their mantle!), and we always make sure to capture the emotional connections. Look how happy these two are, they are totally immersed in the moment and we are just there to document the LOVE. It is such an honor to witness two souls connecting with each other on such a deep level.
After meeting in Surf City, we headed down to Topsail Beach, to catch the sunset at Serenity Point. Stay tuned for a blog post with those portraits!!
